The Process
This project began as a random idea that came to mind. To bring it to life, I first visualized it using rough sketches or mixed media compositions, using images from the internet to create and refine my concept. After finalizing the concept visualization, I fine-tuned the elements before deciding on the final look of the project. This step of testing and refining the concept before committing to the final render is crucial in ensuring the final product meets my desired vision.
The Assets
Now that I have decided on the initial look of the project. The next step was finding the assets that I will use for the production, one of many sources I go for is Sketchfab. This particular 3D model was offered for free and also came with texture images. Using Octane Render for Cinema 4D I created a customized material to use for the model and applied the textures that came with it. I have also downloaded some planet textures that I later used on primitive sphere models. Planets were one of the elements I added that weren't initially included in the first concept visualization.
After being satisfied with the overall result of my 3D animations and lighting of the scene, I rendered the final animations as PNG sequences with different passes such as fog, post effects and alpha matte. Using Adobe After Effects, I composited everything and added more visual elements such as weather effects, rain, lightning, and color improvements. The final step was importing the After Effects project to Adobe Premiere for further editing such as time cutting and adding music or sound effects.
I am extremely proud of how this project turned out. It is definitely one of my favorite works that I've created in recent years. The process of bringing this project to life was challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. I was able to push my skills and knowledge in industry-standard design and animation software to create something that I believe is truly unique and visually striking.
The compositing stage in Adobe After Effects was also a great experience for me. I was able to add more visual elements such as weather effects, rain, lightning, and make color improvements that helped to bring the final project to life. The last step was importing the After Effects project to Adobe Premiere for final editing and adding music or sound effects.
Overall, I believe this project showcases my ability to combine industry-standard software with my own creative vision to create something truly unique and visually striking. I am also grateful for the positive feedback I received from other artists, it's always a great feeling to know that my work is appreciated by others.
